Grandma and Grandpa's House

Earlier this month, Jeff and Maddox drove up to Buellton to visit Grandma and Grandpa. I would have gone, but I was bogged down (see previous post). They had a great time, but I really missed my guys!

A Day with the Kerchie's

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but these photos were taken on Maddox's trip to the zoo with the Kerchie's over a month ago. I would have posted them sooner, but I've been a little busy with my ballroom dancing lessons and learning to speak Russian. And writing my first concerto. And my appointment on Obama's cabinet. (Hey...my blog, my story.)

Anyway, now that I finally have a break from vaccinating impoverished children in Uganda, I can find the time to sit down and post these pictures. I'm not sure when I'll have time to post again before my mission trip to Antarctica.
Mad spent a day at the Santa Ana Zoo with Mark, Alicia, Erin and Renee. I can't remember what Jeff and I were doing, but it probably involved something important. Because, as the previous paragraph attests, my life is of earth-shattering importance. Amen.

I'm pretty sure this is when Maddox tried to feed the elephant his robot toy.
Whoa. Those guys are bigger up close.
Here's Little Man shooting some poor, unsuspecting animal with his robot toy. He shoots everything with everything. Another time he decided that his half-eaten cracker looked like a weapon, so he shot us all with that. I'm already shopping around for a good therapist.

Archaeologists found this giant dinosaur egg in South America about 50 years ago. Either that or it's plastic.

Totally Tubular!

After a quick trip to Salvation Army, we got all dolled up and went to Jerry's 80's-themed birthday party. Personally, I don't know why these styles went out of fashion; they are nothing if not flattering.

Even though it's against my religion to wear high heels, I committed a serious sin and wore them anyway. As I was getting dressed, I realized that I only ever wear heels to weddings, funerals and 80's parties. And judging by the way my feet felt all night, there's a very good reason for that.

By coincidence, Maddox and Jaxon both came as Tom Cruise in Risky Business. I was trying to teach the boys to run in the room and slide across the tile floor, but they were having none of that.
Since they wouldn't slide on the tile, we had to settle for jumping on the bed and having a pillow fight. (That's a lesser known scene from the movie.)

Happy 2009!

I realize that I'm about a week late on the new year wishes, but that's when I do my best work: about a week late. This year we went for a 6 mile hike in the Laguna Canyon with the Kercheville's and the Pettibone's on New Year's Eve day.
Then we rang in 2009 with the traditional pajama party at our house. You would be proud ... this year we actually stayed up until midnight!!

May 2009 bring with it more blessings from the Almighty Father, and a renewed peace that can only come from resting in His grace!
