Happy Birthday

Well, our little man is one! It's been an amazing year full of blessings and changes. God has blessed us beyong measure with Maddox, and I stand in awe of His creation every day. Maddox lights our lives. Our cup runneth over.

The birthday cakes ... one for the birthday boy and one for the family.

Children's Museum

We visited the Children's Museum in Denver today, and had a blast! They had a ton of things for Maddox to do.
Grocery shopping at the mini market.
This floor is way too dirty.
Paper or plastic?
Dressed up and playing vet.

Future Firefighters of America.

"I'll save you!" Maddox to the rescue!
Playing Amtrak with Mom.
Eating lunch at a Maddox sized table.

My first fishing trip. I caught a whopper!

Eating dinner in the play kitchen with Grandma.

Vroom Vroom!

Grandma and Grandpa got Maddox this push car for his birthday. Maddox loves to ride around in it! Considering his obsession with cars, I would say this was a pretty great gift!

Grandma and Grandpa Are Here!!

Dan and Carmen flew in last night for a quick trip to celebrate Maddox's birthday! They get to stay until Saturday, and we have their entire trip packed with fun stuff. We have been talking about their visit for weeks and MadMan was very excited to see them when he woke up this morning.

Under The Weather

Little Toot was feeling sick yesterday (nothing dramatic, just feeling crummy with a nasty fever) so we spent the day snuggling and relaxing. It was one of those days when being close to Mommy was not close enough. I did get to sneak away long enough to get the camera while he was watching an Elmo dvd.

Stirring up something yummy for the dogs. I promise he put the wisk in his mouth BEFORE he put it in the dog's dish. I'm gross, but I'm not that gross.

Snuggling Daddy to eat my dinner before bed.

An Early Birthday Present

I learned when I was pregnant that I could get Jeff to do a myriad of things by telling him that the baby wanted it. "No really, the baby wants Chick-Fil-A so we have to go." And the tradition continues. Under the guise of an early birthday gift for Maddox, I dragged Jeff to Toys R Us to buy this awesome wagon ... for me. It's the Cadillac SUV of wagons, complete with cup holders and a sun shade. I'm in love with it! MadMan loves to ride in it and push it, and it makes walks with the baby and the dogs a breeze. Ok...so I'm a little spoiled. Here are my favorite guys putting the wagon together.

The Angels' Shortstop in 2028

The competition in baseball is tough, so we have started training for the Big Leagues now. Think he has a shot?

By the way, you'll notice Sophie desperately trying to get Daddy to play with her ball.

Valentine's Day Card

MadMan got a Valentine's Day card from Grandma and Grandpa which he enjoyed very much, especially the heart confetti inside (which we put in a jar so he can shake around). He is still carrying the card around with him. Check out the video to see Maddox reading the card to us.

Just For Fun

This is the beginning of a brilliant career in music!

"So, anybody know how to get outta here?"

Still Watching and Waiting

I take my camera everywhere with me these days, waiting with bated breath for the moment when Maddox realizes that he actually does know how to walk. He has taken three or four steps by himself a few times, but mostly he just chickens out when he finds himself standing. He knows it's faster and easier to crawl somewhere. The only way I can entice him to take any steps at all is to lure him with a ball (which is by far his favorite object in life). Don't worry...I am standing vigilant, waiting for the exact moment when he really takes off. Now that I have said all this, Maddox will probably walk when I'm in the shower or something!

Changing Every Day

Sophie couldn't care less about Maddox, she just wants his bath toys.
"Hey, what's going on in there?" "Hey, what's going on out there?"
Where's Clubber? Down the hall, terrified that he will have to take a bath next.
"Watch out world! I'll be walking in no time!"
